Tuesday 6pm → Friday 6pm
This is my weekly 72-hour fast.
I start Tuesday evening at 6pm and I don’t eat again until Friday evening.
No tricks. No snacks. No “just a bite”.
Water 💧, electrolytes ⚡, black coffee ☕ if needed. That’s it.
This isn’t about suffering.
It’s about shutting off hunger, letting the body do what it already knows how to do, and clearing the mental and metabolic noise that constant eating creates.
The Phases ⏱️
Phase 1: Catabolic (0–24 hours) 🧹
This is the clean-up phase.
- Stored glycogen is burned through
- Insulin drops
- The body switches from incoming fuel to stored fuel
This is where most people panic.
Hunger spikes because the system is used to constant feeding, not because you actually need food.
Push through this once and it permanently loses power.
Phase 2: Fat Burning (24–48 hours) 🔥
Now things get interesting.
- Fat becomes the primary fuel source
- Energy stabilises
- Hunger begins to fade
This is where you realise most hunger is habit, not biology.
Mental clarity starts creeping in.
Inflammation drops.
The body relaxes.
Phase 3: Ketosis (48–72 hours) ⚙️
This is the sweet spot.
- Deep ketosis
- Hunger goes to near zero
- Calm focus replaces food noise
By this point I feel lighter mentally than physically.
No cravings.
No obsession.
No bargaining with myself.
Just clarity.
Why I Do This 🎯

This is maintenance mode, not starvation.

Who 72-Hour Fasts Are For 🚨
I don’t recommend a 72-hour fast if you don’t need it.
Some people need structure.
Some people need moderation.
I’m strapped to a fridge.
I don’t need reminders to eat.
I need the opposite.
Body fat isn’t there for aesthetics.
If electrolytes are covered, and hunger is truly shut off, the body can run for months, not days.
Willpower isn’t required when biology is finally aligned.
Hangovers & Impulse Control 🍺⚠️
Drinking isn’t the problem.
I’m a heavyweight, no pun intended.
I can handle my drink.
The issue is impulse control when hungover.
Hungover hunger isn’t real hunger.
It’s dopamine chasing.
Salty food.
Sugary food.
Greasy nonsense.
That’s where damage happens.
Fasting removes the decision entirely.
No bargaining.
No “sure it’s only today”.
No sliding back into old loops.
This Isn’t Cheating 🧩
Fixing a broken signal isn’t cheating.
It’s calibration.
The goal isn’t suffering.
The goal is results with clarity.
And clarity changes everything.

This isn’t extremism.
It’s about:
- Removing friction
- Eliminating hunger
- Creating momentum
- Letting biology work with you
Three days.
Once a week.
Simple.
Brutal.
Effective.
And once you feel what zero hunger actually feels like…
you never want to go back.
Once a normal size has been reached once again,
This can all be maintained with regular training.
