Who I Am

I'm Mike MacDonagh, based in Mullingar. Online I go by Mechanical Mad Hog or MechMadHog.

I work with tech, fix broken things, design interfaces, and build systems so life is less chaotic. This site is where I track the rebuild of my body, my routines, and my tools.

Right now my focus is simple: get lighter, get stronger, clear the clutter, and build a setup that future me can run without burning out.

What I Care About

  • Health / strength ... feeling like I can handle my own bodyweight again.
  • Creative work ... art, layouts, logos, typography, weird visual ideas.
  • Systems ... Obsidian vaults, checklists, templates, automation.
  • Music ... heavy blues, desert rock, metal, soundtracks that feel like movies.
  • Stories ... long running arcs, character development, “what if” timelines.

What Lives Here

This site is not a polished portfolio or sales page. It is a live log of:

  • training notes and recomposition attempts
  • AI assistant experiments and tools
  • sketches, branding tests, UI layouts
  • systems I am testing in real life
  • journal entries when I need to think out loud

Some things stay private. I do not post everything here, just what I am happy to share in public.
